It’s all about the kitchen for keen cooks Roger and wife Sandy and that’s what helped them choose their new Cypress Kellen home.
Roger spotted the Vernon Gardens development during an internet search of new houses and admits the pair viewed lots of new developments before falling for their new home in Royton, Oldham.
And for them it was the spacious, open plan kitchen and diner that swung it.
Roger, an electrician, explained: “We absolutely love to cook and eat and for us the kitchen should be the heart of the home. When we walked in and saw the fabulous space in our Kellen home, we knew it was for us. We had seen lots of other new homes before we found this one but this was the one for us and we couldn’t be happier.”
The pair are moving in with their 18-year-old daughter who is currently studying at sixth form but it’s not all plain sailing. According to Roger there are lots of spirited debates about the new furniture they are planning to buy to furnish their new home.
He said: “The process of buying has been relatively smooth but now everyone has an opinion on the décor and so it’s taking a bit of time to decide!”
The family previously lived in Eccles and loved the sense of community that Royton offers. Sandy, who works for a paper manufacturer is now looking forward to cooking and eating that first meal in their new home.
