Middleton in Greater Manchester is a small town on the River Irk with a rich heritage. Named historically due to its position in the middle of several other settlements, the community of Middleton has seen redevelopment whilst still maintaining some of the landmarks created by Edgar Wood.
The redevelopment has seen new supermarkets, a new civic centre and new sporting facilities. Middleton is home to a number of local clubs including Middleton Cricket Club. So, these new houses in Middleton are ideal for sports fans, in particular for golf lovers, as Middleton has four golf clubs within minutes of the town centre - Blackley Golf Club, Heaton Park Golf Club, Manchester Golf Club and North Manchester Golf Club.
If you want to feel the history of the town, take a stroll past Alkrington Hall, the Old Boar’s Head Inn and St Leonard’s Parish Church. The church dates back to 1524, and is one of just three remaining wooden church towers in the UK.
For those who love the great outdoors, not only are you a short drive away from the Peak District, but there’s plenty to discover near our Middleton homes. With Alkrington Woods Nature Reserve, Wince Brooke Park and Hopwood Woods all offering delightful walks. There’s also Lancaster Park & Animal Farm, which makes for a perfect family day out, children have the opportunity to pet and feed some of the animals.
Our homes in Middleton are within walking distance to the Mills Hill train station, which provides services into Manchester city centre, as well as to Blackburn, Clitheroe, Kirkby and Rochdale. Middleton is also surrounded by several main roads, to provide easy and efficient routes across the north. Including the M62 which provides access to Liverpool to the west and Leeds to the east.
