Integrated Masters student George Ruffley has joined Kellen Homes and is combining his study with front-line experience working for the leading Northwest housebuilder.
Kellen Homes has appointed George, aged 21, as part of its talent recruitment and development programme for its growing land and planning team.
George, who lives in Culcheth, is currently in his third year of an Integrated Masters degree in Urban and Real Estate at the University of Manchester, and spends part of his week at university and the other part working with the team at Kellen Homes.
He described the role as both challenging and exciting. George said: “University is great but working at Kellen gives me the real life experience of seeing a housebuilder bring a scheme to life. It is so valuable to see everything that you have learnt in theory being put into practice and it is great to be part of a team.”
Kellen Homes Land Director, Mark Calvert, said of George and the team: “Kellen Homes is a growing housebuilder with a reputation for quality and we are focused on excellence. Finding and developing the best talent in the industry is an important part of that strategy and George is a great and enthusiastic member of the team.”
During term time George works part time at Kellen and then full time during the holidays to get as much experience as he can. His ambition is to complete his Masters and become a planning and land assistant.
