Both St Gabriel’s Church of England Primary School and Elm Wood Primary School have received a donation of £500 each from Kellen Homes in the latest local community initiative by the leading North West housebuilder.
Elm Wood school is currently fundraising for a minibus so the Kellen Homes donation will go towards this and St Gabriel’s is fund raising for outdoor equipment and the donation will help them achieve their goal.
Kellen Homes is currently building 311 new homes at Mill Vale off Don Street in Middleton on the site of the former British Vita land either side of the River Irk and has involved the community and local school children during the development. The Kellen construction team previously visited the schools to talk about how houses are built and to reinforce the importance of site safety, and the children have buried a time capsule on the site for future generations to discover.
Kellen Homes Head of Sales and Marketing, Mollie Tomlinson said: “Kellen Homes is committed to building quality homes that really enhance existing local communities and so it is incredibly important to us to work with local groups and schools as we continue to build the homes at Mill Vale.
“It is an absolute pleasure to be able to make a donation to the schools to help them buy the equipment they need to improve the educational experience of their children and we look forward to our continued partnership.”
