The pair, both aged 28, had been trying to buy an old ‘doer upper’ home for over seven months but it had been fraught with problems and their life had changed shape with the exciting news that they were expecting a new baby girl.
As soon as they saw The Acacia and the brand-new home that would be theirs, everything dropped into place.
Lizzie takes up the story: “We had been trying to buy a house that needed everything doing to it and it was going to take lots of time and effort and wouldn’t be liveable in for a while. Then we found out the lovely news that we were pregnant and just happened to take a walk that ended up at Mill Vale. As soon as we saw the houses, we knew it was for us and we decided to buy.”
Lizzie, a primary school teacher, and George, a project planning engineer, moved into their brand-new Kellen home just weeks later in plenty of time to decorate the nursery for the arrival of their new baby girl. The pair chose a spacious three bedroomed Acacia home and have been very impressed with the style, design and quality of the home.
Lizzie said: “I had a mood board for my perfect kitchen and incredibly it was exactly the kitchen in our new home – already done and perfect. And everything else is lovely. It just suits us perfectly and we have been able to move in, order our furniture and start our new lives in a perfect new home.”
And George is just as thrilled about the new house which is just a stone’s throw from his parents’ house in Middleton. He said: “As soon as I walked in, I knew it was a bit of us and it’s all done. We have a perfect blank canvas to style and live in as we want, and we can start now.
“Buying an old house would have taken us a long time to get a home we wanted, and you just never know what you are going to find when you start renovations. This house is perfect, and everyone has been brilliant in helping us move in and it’s been so fast. I would recommend Kellen Homes to anyone.”
The pair hopefully now have a few weeks before the new baby is born, to unpack their belongings and settle in. The nursery is being decorated in a pale pink wallpaper, but they have decided to take their time over the rest of house.
Lizzie said: “It’s lovely as it is, and we just want to live and enjoy the space and our new arrival.”
