House builder Kellen Homes is currently building the popular ‘Vernon Gardens’ development locally, and has worked closely with Royton Hall Primary School to deliver a presentation highlighting the importance of health and safety around building sites.
Over 180 pupils aged between seven and eleven attended the informative assembly led by our Health and Safety Director, Colin Murray, along with Assistant Site Manager, Mathew Brownhill and Sales Consultant, Karen Morris. The educational talk, which included information on building site machinery, protective clothing and more, allowed the children to learn about the dangers and hazards on construction sites, as well as the importance of health and safety.
Health and Safety Director, Colin Murray, commented: “At Kellen Homes, we are committed to working closely with the local community, which is why it is so important that we inform children on the importance of health and safety on construction sites, which are often mistaken for playgrounds. It was fantastic to see that the pupils had lots of questions and were keen to learn more about the potential risks to look out for on a building site.”
Mrs Bradley, Year 5 Class Teacher, commented: " The presentation was very informative and highlighted the dangers of building sites clearly. It was reinforced by the explanation of how their staff manage safety"
